About Us

Rabbi Chayim and Sarah Alevsky are the co-directors of the Chabad Family Programs of the West Side.

Sarah serves as the director of the Chabad Hebrew School and Kivun, and the troop leader of the Girl Scouts Troop. She serves on the board of CKids, Chabad’s youth education arm and on think tanks at the Jewish Education Project and Merkos - Chabad Lubavitch Headquarters. Her essays on education can be found on Lubavitch.com. She also gives adult education classes to women as part of the Chabad Women’s Circle.

In addition to his role as co-director of Chabad Family Programs, Rabbi Chayim is the rockstar at the Chabad Early Learning Center, where he plays music every Friday to enthralled preschoolers. In his spare time, he creates Jewish publications like transliterated Siddurim with accompanying recordings of the prayers. He is the voice of Chabad.org’s Torah Trainer and is an expert teacher of Trop and Torah Reading. Rabbi Chayim is also the Running Commentator, sharing the Rebbe’s thoughts live on FB as he runs the reservoir in Central Park. Rabbi Chayim is also an active member of the Bikur Cholim of Manhattan and spearheading Chesed efforts through his non-profit, TAG613.

Together, they lead Shabbat and holiday services at Chabad for the "under 12" set.

They are the parents of four daughters and grandparents to two boys and live on the UWS, where they welcome many, many people to their Shabbat table!
